Idalia Sherman, Communication Specialist

My company, Morales-Sherman Languages, offers Spanish and Spanish translation to small groups or individuals from government agencies or the private sector. My courses are designed for the specific needs of my clients. The programs have been tailored to meet the needs of a wide variety of individuals including law enforcement agents, medical personnel, executives and adventurous travelers. These classes are for those who want to communicate in Spanish and increase their ability to interact with a vast population of the world, increase cultural knowledge, have fun learning, enjoy all the benefits of a vibrant and exciting language as well as exercising the mind.

I am a Spanish specialist that offers instruction and communication services.

Most of my working experience has been in the education field. I have additional experience in mass communication working in Spanish radio and television. I also had an import-export business that gave me the opportunity to travel, but my love for teaching took me back to my roots. I have attended schools in two continents and three countries. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Mexico City, a Master’s degree from the United States and another Master’s from Spain. I offer my students Spanish from México, my native tongue, and the experience of my Spanish and Culture studies at the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain.

I relate my personal experience of learning English as an adult to my adult students. I begin the Spanish teaching process in my students’ comfort zones. I first explain them the target language in English. I use active learning and any method that will help the different learning styles of the students. I am constantly honing my craft by involving myself with professional groups of language educators. I am certified to teach Spanish and Communications at the Maricopa Community Colleges where I taught all levels of Spanish for eight years prior to starting my business. I have taught thousands of students in the community colleges and in my private practice which includes City of Phoenix employees, local businesses and individuals.
