Cooking Myanmar Food

There are so many different web series out on the Internet.  Two new web series take on the task of storytelling while teaching you how to cook Myanmar (Asian) recipes.  Follow a Manga inspired character, Princess Dévi (Devi-licious.com), for a Live Action Anime story.  There is also a cooking superhero, Dévi-vicious (Devi-vicious.com), who saves unsuspecting home cooks from Fast Food Villains for a Live Action Comic Book story.  Which ever Food Fantasy adventure suites you, either way you get a great tasting meal out of it.

About Dévi Vann

Dévi has been cooking all her life and learned the traditional foods of her mother’s homeland, Myanmar. Dévi wanted to present Myanmar food in a creative way that was fun and approachable. As Asian cuisine is typically known for being intimidating, Dévi made sure the recipes and techniques were easy to follow. Hence, the birth of the web-series Dévi-licious. Each Dévi-licious episode has a different original character highlighting a recipe to teach the viewer about the culture and food facts at the same time. The combination of entertainment and educating is the common theme for Dévi-licious.

Dévi was born and raised in the greater Phoenix area of Arizona. Her father is of Spanish, German and Lithuanian heritage while her mother is from Myanmar. She attended Montessori International School, high school and college in Arizona. Dancing was a big part of her life starting at the age of 4 with ballet. In high school she was Miss Arizona Junior National Teenager, attended Girls State and Girls Nation. After graduating high school she went abroad for the summer with the People to People Student Ambassador Program. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology from Arizona State University and started competing in Ballroom and Latin dancing. Since college she got involved with acting in theater productions such as Guys & Dolls, South Pacific, King & I, and Evita. She also has done film, television and commercial work. Her love of acting has combined with her love for cooking to create her web episodes and cookbooks.
