Assisted Living
Elder care is a growing concern in our nation. Most everyone has an aging relative in need of assisted care, is acquainted with someone who has a family member in need of additional help in their homes or who lives with family members, enabling them to remain independent as long as possible. Yet there comes a time when individuals or families recognize that situation must change and a higher level of care is needed. This is when a care facility that provides assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing becomes a viable option. To ease the stress of transitioning a relative into an assisted living, skilled nursing or senior care community, it is best to work with an assisted living placement specialist and counselor.
In the past, assisted living was associated with the end of life as we know it. Today, assisted living can be a new beginning in which the elderly, disabled or incapacitated can thrive in a loving, nurturing environment.
Care can be found in various types of facilities such as large assisted living centers where social stimulation and activities are a focus or in smaller private group homes that provide a smaller, more intimate family atmosphere. Both types of communities will provide the level of qualified and licensed care needed while promoting as much independence as possible.
Whatever the care need is and whatever the personal preferences are, there is a solution for providing assisted living that can increase the quality of life for your loved one.

About Becky
Becky Feola, owner of Assisted Living Advantage, learned the value of hard work at an early age and continues to put that work ethic to use to help families and individuals seeking the best assisted living option for their loved ones.
After an 11-year battle, that included finding multiple caregivers and assisted living facilities for her terminally ill husband, Becky founded the NJF Center for Caregivers, Inc. after her husband passed away. The mission of the NJF Center was to support informal caregivers, their families, and the elderly population seeking supportive, accessible, and ethical solutions and resources in care giving. As executive director of the non-profit Becky planned, directed, and oversaw all aspects of the NJF Center’s policies, programs, and operations. Additionally, she was responsible for the board of directors and the management of short-term and long-term funding. NJF served over 400 families during its four years of operation until 2009 when they closed, eventually falling victim to the faltering economy
Following that, Becky’s phone still rang with people needing her expertise in locating places for loved ones to receive the best care possible. Demand and her passion for helping others prompted her to launch Assisted Living Advantage where she could continue to serve families in that capacity.
ALA services range from providing consultations and evaluations to those who are in the process of deciding whether it’s time to consider assisted living, to placement/referral services for those who have made the decision, to follow-up visits for those who want peace of mind that their loved one is happy, secure and cared for. Becky also holds seminars regularly, and is frequently invited to speak to groups to help educate the public about assisted living and the myriad issues and challenges associated with care for the aging and ill.
